Responsibilities
- Develop new and maintain existing Cache and MUMPS programs for the Clinical Laboratory System.
- Analyze application issues, define recommendations, and implement solutions for Cache-based clinical laboratory systems.
- Develop functional and design specifications and create and execute unit, system integration, and user acceptance test plans.
- Design and implement frontend and backend features, system integrations, performance improvements, and resiliency enhancements.
- Participate in requirements analysis, architectural and database design, code reviews, testing, release management, and the full software development lifecycle.
- Own delivery of application components and serve as technical lead for small to midsize complex projects.
- Guide developers, explain requirements and design approaches, review test plans, monitor defects, and coordinate with customers, analysts, project managers, and development teams.
- Manage small-scale projects, estimate work, assess risks, track status, and communicate project and team status.
- Act as the designated expert for assigned application areas and improve development procedures and engineering practices.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software development experience.
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent professional work experience.
- At least 5 years of MUMPS/Cache development experience with Cache and IRIS.
- At least 5 years of Cache Object Script development beyond traditional MUMPS experience.
- At least 5 years of healthcare industry experience and 5 years developing large-scale, multisite systems.
- At least 5 years of interface development and implementation experience, including HL7 v2.x, HL7v3, and middleware integration.
- At least 3 years of experience developing and using SOAP and REST web services.
- At least 2 years of web development experience with XML, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XSLT, and AngularJS.
- Knowledge of object-oriented design patterns, distributed databases, and data modeling techniques.
- A related master's degree is preferred.
- Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring developers, conducting design and code reviews, and coordinating with customers and project stakeholders.
