Responsibilities
- Establish support processes for reliable operation of production trading technologies, deployments, configurations, monitoring, and proactive issue prevention.
- Provide production support for proprietary trading systems and maintain maximum system availability.
- Develop process automation and monitoring tools using internal and third-party technologies.
- Support trading systems across primarily Linux and some Windows production environments.
- Troubleshoot incidents involving proprietary systems, markets, data feeds, and telecommunications lines.
- Automate software configuration and rollout procedures to reduce manual errors.
- Support market connectivity and communicate with exchanges about order activity and technical issues.
- Collaborate with DBAs, development, back-office, QA, infrastructure, and management teams on releases and technical troubleshooting.
Requirements
- Experience supporting high-performance applications, process monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals including multicast, TCP, and routing.
- Basic scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar tools.
- Experience working in Linux environments.
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or an equivalent degree.
- Trading systems support experience is preferred.
- Experience with FIX protocol, alternative exchange protocols, Chef, Ansible, Docker, Splunk, Kibana, or Grafana is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and flexibility to work varied hours as trading activity requires.
