Responsibilities
- Prepare technical design specifications and written knowledge-transfer materials.
- Review requirements, analysis, and design documents and provide feedback.
- Implement, test, maintain, and support software based on technical specifications.
- Design and implement improvements to applications, codebases, and system quality processes.
- Develop and lead architecture, design, and implementation of robust, highly scalable web services.
- Perform peer reviews, architecture reviews, debugging, and technical investigations.
- Collaborate with colleagues and cross-functional stakeholders to implement technical designs.
- Support customer support teams with technical problems and questions.
- Use AI-native practices, automation, and engineering toolchains to improve software development and operations.
- Lead project work and mentor less experienced developers when needed.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of Java full-stack development experience.
- At least 2.5 years of experience developing software for large business environments and Java Enterprise Edition.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a master’s degree is a plus.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture principles, preferably implemented with Java.
- Strong experience leading architecture, design, and implementation of robust and highly scalable web services.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure, DevOps technologies, and extensive debugging.
- Experience with unit, test-driven, functional, and performance testing.
- At least 2 years of experience developing and debugging distributed systems and working with cloud-based big data systems.
- Experience with React is preferred.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems and data architecture.
- Experience with event buses such as Pulsar and cloud-based big data solutions such as Snowflake is preferred.
- Experience with software security-enhancing tools and practices and at least one shell scripting language.
- Understanding of big data, machine learning, LLMs, automation, and AI modernization initiatives.
- Ability to work across business strategy, product strategy, technical design, and implementation while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
