Base Salary
$118k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Act as a conduit between Global Architecture and engineering or development teams.
- Collaborate with architects across different organizations and introduce or train teams on new technologies.
- Lead teams in resolving complex project issues by identifying, researching, and coordinating necessary resources.
- Evaluate new technologies and translate findings into alternatives, solutions, risks, impacts, and schedule adjustments.
- Drive technical direction and architecture evolution through reviews and hands-on leadership.
- Monitor business-unit system health and design proposals to address negative trends.
- Identify subsystems or components that should evolve into shared infrastructure.
- Research industry and technology advancements and build alliances to advance technical opportunities.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software, network, or systems engineering.
- BS in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience; an advanced degree is preferred.
- Strong understanding of programming languages, code, and databases, with expert-level knowledge of one or more programming languages or an engineering discipline.
- Expertise in a plurality of parallel and distributed processing systems, information retrieval, data mining, natural language processing, very large-scale databases, declarative languages, and high-performance computing.
- Working knowledge of a plurality of network design, storage system architectures, service-oriented architecture technologies, XML and XSLT, and parallel processing architectures such as SMP and NUMA.
- Experience with a plurality of Windows Server, UNIX or Linux, and z/OS operating systems.
- Strong project planning, time management, change management, delegation, and prioritization skills across multiple functional groups.
- Advanced problem-solving experience leading teams through complex diagnosis and translating findings into solutions and management recommendations.
- Advanced verbal and written communication, customer service, research, presentation, and interpersonal skills for communicating with technical teams, customers, and senior or executive management.
