Base Salary

$160k - $200k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Embed with stream-aligned teams in 6–12-week engagements to build observability, CI/CD, and security capabilities.
  • Coach teams on instrumentation, logging, metrics, traces, dashboards, alerts, SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets.
  • Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and Octopus Deploy, including progressive delivery strategies.
  • Guide security scanning, threat modeling, secrets management, and vulnerability remediation within deployment pipelines.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and improve lead time, MTTR, and vulnerability remediation time.
  • Create reusable pipeline templates, dashboards, documentation, and golden path examples.
  • Track DORA metrics, observability maturity, and security posture across engagements.
  • Collaborate with the Subsystems Platform Team to create scalable self-service platform capabilities.
  • Facilitate workshops, pairing sessions, and documentation to build lasting team competence.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Platform Engineering.
  • Strong expertise with application observability, including structured logging, distributed tracing, dashboards, and alerts, using New Relic, Datadog, or similar tools.
  • Required experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and Octopus Deploy.
  • Experience with application security practices, including SAST, DAST, SCA, OWASP Top 10, threat modeling, secrets management, and DevSecOps integration.
  • Required Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform or similar tools, plus knowledge of trunk-based development and version control best practices.
  • Understanding of SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, reliability engineering principles, and secrets management solutions such as Azure Key Vault and HashiCorp Vault.
  • Ability to coach and mentor engineering teams and communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to influence and guide teams without direct authority across multiple technical domains.
