Base Salary

$167k - $291k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and operate production Kubernetes clusters across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
  • Architect closed-loop auto-remediation systems that detect, classify, and resolve infrastructure failures automatically.
  • Build and evolve SRE tooling for monitoring, incident management, log aggregation, observability, and automated runbooks.
  • Establish SLO frameworks, error budgets, alerting policies, escalation procedures, and incident command systems.
  • Develop Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks and GitOps pipelines for reproducible and auditable infrastructure deployments.
  • Architect hybrid-cloud and data-center operations, including workload migration, disaster recovery, multi-region deployment, and cost optimization strategies.
  • Drive adoption of containerization, microservices, DevOps, CI/CD, service mesh, and network security practices.
  • Design follow-the-sun on-call operations and lead post-incident reviews and systemic reliability improvements.
  • Mentor SRE engineers and infrastructure teams on reliability, incident investigation, automation, and AIOps practices.
  • Reduce operational toil through automation across provisioning, incident response, and cost optimization.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering or infrastructure operations experience, including 5+ years in SRE, DevOps, or cloud platform engineering with a bachelor's degree; alternatives include 6 years with a master's degree, 3 years with a PhD, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience designing, deploying, and operating production Kubernetes clusters at scale.
  • Hands-on expertise with at least two of AWS, Azure, and GCP, including relevant compute, networking, storage, and observability services.
  • Experience designing and implementing automated incident remediation, anomaly detection, alert correlation, runbook automation, and self-healing systems.
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and GitOps tools, including Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent technologies.
  • Strong Linux systems administration, performance troubleshooting, and scripting experience with Python, Go, and Bash.
  • Experience with distributed systems, hybrid networking, disaster recovery, workload migration, and multi-region architectures.
  • Experience operating or designing 24/7 follow-the-sun on-call models, runbooks, escalation policies, and incident response processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply machine learning and AI-driven insights to infrastructure operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Preferred qualifications include CKA or CKAD certification, service mesh or advanced Kubernetes networking experience, cloud migration and cost optimization experience, and experience mentoring infrastructure teams.
