Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of major systems and services that are scalable, reliable, maintainable, and aligned with business needs.
- Translate system requirements into actionable work units and develop high-quality software using established standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with solution managers, engineers, data scientists, and stakeholders to define technical requirements and meet client and business objectives.
- Identify and resolve complex, high-priority issues in development and production environments.
- Conduct system analysis and proof of concepts and recommend software tools, frameworks, products, and emerging technologies.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, teaching, and code-review feedback to improve other Software Engineers’ productivity and skills.
- Enforce unit, integration, automated, and performance testing; analyze performance metrics and support debugging and improvement efforts.
- Create and lead architecture and design work, integrate disparate systems, and manage changing technologies.
- Review implementation, support, playbook, and performance-testing documentation needed to operate and support software.
- Use AI tools and platforms to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows, and support data-informed outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- 8–12 years of related work experience.
- Experience designing and developing web-based applications using Python, Node.js, GraphQL, RESTful Web APIs, and NoSQL technologies.
- Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or React and with Git.
- Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with AI tools, preferably Claude.
- Familiarity with observability and application performance monitoring tools such as New Relic and OpenTelemetry.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, debugging, performance tuning, and infrastructure as code such as Terraform.
- 8+ years of programming experience, preferably with Python and Django; 8+ years of NoSQL, cloud technology, and CI/CD experience are preferred.
- Preferred CI/CD and cloud-related experience includes Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CloudFormation, and Elasticsearch.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, Agile Scrum experience, and strong knowledge of application development and software development lifecycle processes.
- Healthcare industry experience is preferred.
- Willingness to work additional or irregular hours as needed and comply with applicable security policies and procedures.
