Base Salary
$164k - $226k/yr
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the technical vision, core infrastructure, and backend architecture for Databricks’ Enterprise Agentic Framework.
- Build a modular, multi-tenant agent platform initially optimized for Customer Support and extensible to other enterprise domains.
- Drive iterative backend development while maintaining quality, safety, throughput, and reliability standards.
- Design state-machine and agentic workflows that support human validation and fully automated execution.
- Implement backend tracing, logging, transparency, safe execution, and rollback mechanisms for critical AI-driven decisions.
- Coordinate with CXI, Product, Platform Engineering, and business stakeholders to align roadmaps and unblock dependencies.
- Set high standards for backend code quality, system performance, and architectural maintainability.
- Mentor engineers and subject matter experts across Software, Support, and internal operations teams.
Requirements
- BS or higher degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field.
- Extensive experience designing, building, and maintaining high-throughput backend production systems.
- Proven success deploying enterprise-grade backend infrastructure, microservices, and robust APIs in complex environments.
- Deep familiarity with distributed systems, data platforms, and large-scale internal or external traffic.
- Hands-on experience with ML-assisted backend systems, LLM orchestration frameworks, state machines, or agentic automation.
- Strong understanding of AWS, Azure, and GCP multi-cloud environments, enterprise compliance, data privacy, and security constraints.
