Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, modernization, and deployment of Java-based microservices applications.
- Drive migration of existing applications to Kubernetes-based environments.
- Define scalable, resilient, secure, and maintainable microservices architecture.
- Provide technical leadership to backend developers and SDET engineers.
- Design and review APIs, service integrations, asynchronous processing, and application configuration strategies.
- Collaborate on solution design, technical decisions, delivery planning, regional customizations, and cross-team dependencies.
- Oversee CI/CD pipelines, containerization, Kubernetes deployments, observability, and release management.
- Conduct code reviews, technical design reviews, performance optimization, and production troubleshooting.
- Ensure secure coding, automated testing, engineering standards, and production readiness.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of software engineering experience with strong hands-on Java backend development.
- Advanced proficiency in Java 11/17+, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and microservices architecture.
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, containerization, and application migration or deployment on Kubernetes.
- Experience designing REST APIs, distributed systems, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitLab CI or equivalent.
- Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases, Kafka or other messaging systems, and API security.
- Proficiency with Kubernetes deployment concepts including Helm, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Services, Ingress, and scaling.
- Understanding of application monitoring, logging, performance tuning, and production incident management.
- Proven technical leadership, solution design, and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Preferred experience includes payments, digital payments, tokenization, or financial services.
- Preferred exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Preferred experience with GitOps, Argo CD, Prometheus, Grafana, and distributed tracing.
