Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and operate automated options market-making systems covering market data, pricing, quoting, order execution, hedging, positions, and risk controls.
- Translate requirements from trading, quantitative, and product teams into reliable, testable production systems.
- Improve the performance, stability, maintainability, testing, monitoring, alerting, and recovery capabilities of critical trading paths.
- Apply AI coding tools to requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and code review while validating the quality and safety of generated code.
- Own technical design and code review for core modules and, at Senior or Staff level, lead cross-module projects and architectural evolution.
- Participate in incident resolution and post-incident reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline.
- At least two years of experience in backend engineering, real-time systems, infrastructure, or trading systems.
- Proficiency in at least one of Java, Rust, or C++, with the ability to work in a multilingual codebase.
- Strong fundamentals in operating systems, network communication, multithreading, concurrent programming, and distributed systems.
- Experience with Linux development and runtime environments, asynchronous processing, network I/O, high-performance data structures, and low-latency system optimization.
- Familiarity with TCP, UDP, WebSocket, HTTP, or proprietary exchange protocols and real-time data or trading interfaces.
- Ability to use profiling, benchmarking, and production metrics to identify bottlenecks.
- Experience or familiarity with real-time messaging, inter-process communication, build and dependency management, unit testing, integration testing, and continuous integration.
- Preferred experience includes options market making, quantitative trading, exchange connectivity, market data, order management, quoting, hedging, risk systems, market microstructure, options pricing, volatility, Greeks, PnL, inventory risk, and dynamic hedging.
- Preferred experience includes Aeron, shared memory, lock-free queues, binary protocols, market data replay, strategy simulation, trade reconciliation, production incident resolution, Python, Claude Code, or Codex.
