Base Salary

$201k - $288k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of IonQ’s Hosted Hybrid Service in partnership with product management.
  • Define execution and extensibility models for quantum-classical workloads, including HPC computation.
  • Drive the infrastructure strategy for classical HPC and non-HPC compute supporting hybrid jobs.
  • Build and maintain reusable quantum workload libraries for customers and internal teams.
  • Establish practices for code development, quality assurance, documentation, and continuous integration and deployment.
  • Collaborate with HPC, Cloud, Product, and executive leadership stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior staff and help build the future team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent practical experience, with untraditional backgrounds welcomed.
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience; 15+ years is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience as a technical lead delivering projects in dynamic and ambiguous environments.
  • Experience designing, building, and operating cloud-hosted services or APIs relied upon by external customers.
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience defining extensible service or function models, such as plugin architectures or function-as-a-service.
  • Experience designing developer-facing libraries or SDKs used by external customers.
  • Preferred qualifications include hybrid quantum-classical computing frameworks or quantum SDK experience, cloud-to-HPC integration experience, and exposure to quantum physics or quantum information science.
