Base Salary
$152k - $228k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement software experiences for quantum computing customers.
- Define API contracts and take backend services from design through implementation and release.
- Build and maintain asynchronous job-processing pipelines, including preprocessing, execution, post-processing, and result delivery.
- Provide highly available and fault-tolerant cloud services.
- Strengthen testing, observability, continuous delivery, stability, and security practices.
- Integrate AI capabilities that improve customer experiences and use AI-assisted development tools responsibly.
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident reviews.
- Mentor engineers and drive technical alignment across teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience.
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong experience with large-scale cloud service platforms and scalable, robust service design.
- Programming experience with Go, TypeScript, or Python.
- Experience with PostgreSQL and cloud-native environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, with Kubernetes or serverless technologies.
- Ability to design and implement application components including UX, APIs, services, exception handling, data access, and security.
- Experience with automated testing, production troubleshooting, and observability.
- Practical experience with AI-assisted engineering tools, including validating generated code for correctness and security.
- Track record of leading projects in cross-functional teams and strong written, spoken, and collaborative communication skills.
- Preferred: 10+ years of professional full-stack software development experience.
- Preferred: 3+ years of Kubernetes experience and 3+ years with NoSQL and SQL databases.
- Preferred: OAuth, OpenID, or SAML authentication experience.
- Preferred: Google Cloud Platform experience, ideally on a cloud platform team at a major provider.
- Preferred: Experience building job-processing pipelines for large, complex workloads such as quantum, AI, or video analytics jobs.
