Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and maintain services and APIs across the stack.
- Develop primarily in Scala and contribute to Java and JavaScript codebases.
- Work with client and frontend teammates to deliver end-to-end features.
- Diagnose production issues and improve reliability, performance, and maintainability.
- Identify, triage, and remediate security vulnerabilities in code, dependencies, and infrastructure.
- Help evolve secure software development practices including threat modeling, secure code review, dependency and vulnerability scanning, and security testing.
- Collaborate on AWS deployments and infrastructure changes.
- Review code, strengthen tests and documentation, and improve established systems safely.
Requirements
- Experience developing production services in Scala, Java, or another JVM language.
- Experience designing and maintaining APIs.
- Security background with experience writing secure code and addressing vulnerability reports through remediation.
- Experience developing or contributing to a security-conscious software development lifecycle.
- Familiarity with AWS-hosted applications and deployment and support practices.
- Strong debugging, testing, and code-review skills.
- Ability to work across multiple languages and newer and established codebases.
- Preferred experience includes client or frontend development, VPN-specific software, Go, infrastructure as code or HCL-based configuration, and network-related services.
