Responsibilities
- Design and build onboarding for non-SumUp customers, including KYC and Open Finance account and income-data integrations.
- Lead the technical relationship with the Open Finance repayment-integration partner alongside the Bank squad.
- Build the core lending product end to end, from credit assessment through servicing and collections.
- Connect Open Finance data to underwriting models to support fast and reliable credit decisions.
- Set technical direction and make high-impact architecture decisions with minimal guidance.
- Coach mid-level and entry-level engineers.
- Partner with the Bank squad, Compliance, and the external Open Finance partner on Brazilian regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Approximately six years of software engineering experience designing and owning complex distributed systems end to end.
- Strong knowledge of Open Finance or Open Banking integrations from work in a bank, fintech, or other regulated financial product.
- Strong Golang backend development experience.
- Confidence working in another language such as Java, Kotlin, Python, or Ruby.
- Ability to identify ambiguity, evaluate tradeoffs, and drive decisions without perfect information.
- Interest in building a new product from scratch and exploring unfamiliar territory.
