Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Oracle Database, and web technologies.
- Write, analyze, and optimize complex Oracle SQL queries for application functionality, data processing, reporting, and performance.
- Develop and maintain Java/Spring Boot REST APIs, business logic, integrations, and services connected to Oracle Database.
- Support and modernize complex legacy applications by analyzing existing code and architecture and reducing technical debt.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues across application, database, API, and integration layers.
- Develop web application components using JavaScript and HTML, with potential use of React and other frontend frameworks.
- Support authentication, SSO, third-party, and internal-system integrations.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, CI/CD practices, technical documentation, and Agile delivery.
- Identify technical risks and dependencies and contribute to application reliability, maintainability, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of software development experience with hands-on delivery using Java and Oracle Database.
- Strong Oracle SQL skills, including complex joins, subqueries, aggregations, and data-intensive operations.
- Solid experience developing Java applications and REST APIs with Spring Boot, including business logic, service-layer development, and Oracle Database integration.
- Strong understanding of Oracle Database, relational data models, database objects, and application-to-database integrations.
- Experience diagnosing application issues, analyzing existing code, debugging production problems, and implementing solutions across multiple application layers.
- Experience consuming and producing REST APIs and familiarity with OAuth2, JWT, and third-party platform integrations.
- Familiarity with source control, code reviews, testing, deployment, Agile sprint-based delivery, CI/CD pipelines, and branching strategies.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with legacy application modernization, React, NextJS, modern JavaScript frameworks, Oracle APEX, PL/SQL, Auth0 or similar identity platforms, MuleSoft, Salesforce APIs, Lightning Web Components, enterprise integrations, learning management platforms, microservices, and API gateways.
