Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own agent platform components, including orchestration and integrations with internal systems.
- Build APIs, data access patterns, and service integrations that enable agents to execute operational workflows.
- Architect knowledge and memory infrastructure for data retrieval and cross-system actions.
- Implement trust and safety capabilities such as audit trails, human-in-the-loop controls, and guardrails.
- Contribute to agent evaluation and testing infrastructure for measuring accuracy, reliability, and regressions.
- Partner with Operations to identify automation opportunities and translate process knowledge into agent capabilities.
- Mentor other engineers as the team grows.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience building and operating production systems.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs and AI agents, including orchestration, retrieval-augmented generation, or tool/function calling.
- Strong API design and systems integration skills.
- Ability to contribute to product decisions and question requirements, not just execute them.
- Proven ownership of complex projects in ambiguous, early-stage environments.
- Strong backend engineering fundamentals and the ability to design, build, and operate production systems.
- Curiosity and motivation to develop practical expertise in AI, LLMs, and agent systems.
- Ability to work pragmatically, independently, collaboratively, and with a strong ownership mindset.
