Base Salary
$131k - $197k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and launch Android products and services that solve customer problems.
- Independently define, decompose, and lead complex projects, potentially coordinating other engineers.
- Architect and lead the transition to a highly modularized Android codebase.
- Guide technical trade-offs and partner with Product and Design on product direction and architectural improvements.
- Perform code reviews, design reviews, testing, monitoring, alerting, documentation, and runbook creation.
- Identify developer-experience bottlenecks and drive engineering-led initiatives for efficiency and operational excellence.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers in technical skills, engineering practices, and career growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- 9+ years of professional Android development experience using Kotlin and shipping apps to the Play Store.
- 3+ years of modern Kotlin development experience, including technologies such as Jetpack Compose and Flow.
- Experience leading projects from planning through release, distributing work, and mentoring junior engineers.
- Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals, Android design patterns, and best practices.
- Experience integrating with RESTful server-side services and using AI tools.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Product, Design, and Engineering stakeholders.
- Strong attention to product design and detail, plus excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Kotlin Multiplatform experience is preferred but not required.
