Base Salary

$207k - $300k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership on projects.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large-scale software solutions.
  • Improve the BigQuery engine to remove bottlenecks for low-latency queries.
  • Design solutions that are easy to maintain and extend.
  • Work with the BigQuery and Dremel codebases, primarily using C++, with Java in data planes and Python for tests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with one or more general-purpose programming languages, including Java, C/C++, or Python.
  • 5 years of experience testing and launching software products.
  • 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, networks, compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
  • 5 years of coding experience in C, C++, Java, or Python.
  • 3 years of experience in software design and architecture.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Preferred: 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • Preferred: 3 years of experience leading project teams and setting technical direction.
  • Preferred: 3 years of experience in complex, matrixed, cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
  • Preferred: Experience developing query-processing engines for SQL relational databases or large-scale distributed systems.
