Base Salary
$207k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and drive the design and implementation of major components across the database stack.
- Analyze end-to-end performance of distributed storage and deliver short- and long-term performance improvements.
- Test and harden product data integrity and improve operational efficiency through process and tooling enhancements.
- Participate in operating and maintaining the database-as-a-service product, including troubleshooting and diagnosing customer and service issues.
- Influence and shape the team’s culture and processes.
- Own and drive technical vision and execution for AlloyDB on Google Cloud Platform.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience programming in C++.
- 5 years of experience testing and launching software products.
- 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or working with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
- Experience designing or managing PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MS SQL Server databases with focus on performance, security, scalability, reliability, high availability, and disaster recovery.
- Preferred: Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Preferred: 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Preferred: 3 years in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- Preferred: 3 years working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.
- Preferred: experience designing and developing large-scale distributed systems or relational databases, APIs, workflows, concurrency, multithreading, and synchronization.
