Base Salary
$176k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop, support, troubleshoot, and enhance trading systems with hands-on software engineering.
- Design and develop solutions for pre-trade, trade capture, pricing, and fixed-income trading workflows.
- Analyze legacy systems and processes and identify opportunities for modernization and innovation.
- Design new systems, investigate existing processes, and propose scalable and robust technical solutions.
- Build metrics and KPIs for transformation initiatives and report progress to senior leadership.
- Collaborate with trading, risk, and P&L teams across the organization.
- Create proof-of-concept solutions and lead pilot projects evaluating new technologies.
- Drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices across teams.
- Establish validation standards covering secure coding, peer review, automated testing, and AI output correctness, performance, and security.
- Promote reuse of engineering patterns and automation within the software development lifecycle toolchain.
Requirements
- At least five years of applied experience with Java, Core Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud; Python or C++ are also acceptable.
- Experience developing software with Kafka, IBM MQ, Tibco, and AMPS messaging hubs.
- Experience delivering transformation projects in fixed-income trading systems.
- Experience influencing stakeholders in complex, matrixed organizations and delivering value at scale.
- Experience with complex projects involving system design, testing, and operational stability.
- Expertise in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, or a related technical field.
- Experience leading effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Preferred: ten or more years of software development experience using Java, Python, C++, or SQL.
- Preferred: experience as a lead software engineer for a small team.
- Preferred: graduate degree in computer science or engineering.
- Preferred: AI/ML and NLP knowledge.
