Base Salary
$207k - $275k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive technical decision-making, mentor engineers, and grow team capability.
- Champion event-driven architecture and build organizational consensus.
- Design and implement managed data platform solutions for data delivery.
- Develop scalable and reliable stream processing architecture.
- Improve the performance, security, reliability, and scalability of data platforms and related services.
- Establish data access and storage guidelines and guardrails for stakeholder teams.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and participate in the on-call rotation.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in software or infrastructure engineering.
- Knowledge of data consistency, concurrency models, data modeling, and data management guidelines.
- Experience with distributed NewSQL datastores such as CockroachDB, TiDB, YDB, or Yugabyte and stream processing tools such as NATS or Kafka.
- Experience designing and operating distributed systems at scale.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, including event-driven or stateful orchestration and potentially contributing to Kubernetes operators.
- Knowledge of Linux distributions, shell scripting, and Linux storage and networking stacks.
- Production-level proficiency in Go or Python and interest in contributing to open source.
- Ability to decompose complex problems into achievable tasks and communicate solutions to teammates.
