Responsibilities

  • Own cross-team ML architecture decisions covering model selection, production deployment patterns, and build-versus-buy strategy.
  • Define and drive rigorous model and agentic evaluation frameworks across all AI teams.
  • Establish shared AI production infrastructure patterns for model and prompt versioning, guardrails, uncertainty quantification, cost optimization, and observability.
  • Lead the technical design of agentic solutions and define how product teams build on shared AI capabilities.
  • Elevate technical standards by influencing Staff and Senior ML Engineers through architecture reviews, technical guidance, and practice propagation.
  • Unblock AI teams and handle deep technical challenges requiring senior ML judgment at scale.
  • Partner with Product, Legal, and Compliance teams to support safe rollouts and EU regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in ML/AI, including 3+ years at Staff+ or Principal level leading complex, multi-team technical initiatives.
  • Deep expertise in at least two of clinical NLP, LLM fine-tuning and evaluation, automatic speech recognition, RAG systems, or reinforcement learning.
  • Expertise in Python, PyTorch, Transformers, and vLLM, with experience deploying ML systems in production on AWS or GCP.
  • PhD in Computer Science, AI, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent research experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to align diverse stakeholders and explain complex technical decisions.
  • Preferred: publications at NeurIPS, ICLR, ACL, or medical informatics venues.
  • Preferred: experience with GDPR, MDR, and the EU AI Act.
  • Preferred: prior work with clinical data or healthcare applications.
