Responsibilities
- Lead planning, coordination, and execution of production software deployments, maintenance windows, emergency releases, and release readiness activities.
- Share ownership of global production deployment operations with the US Platform Engineering team to provide operational coverage and continuity.
- Develop deployment standards, rollback procedures, release processes, and operational playbooks.
- Design and implement automated deployment solutions, reusable deployment frameworks, standardized workflows, and self-service deployment capabilities.
- Lead CI/CD modernization initiatives using CircleCI and related technologies.
- Drive automation and continuous improvements that increase deployment reliability, release quality, deployment frequency, and engineering efficiency.
- Serve as the technical escalation point during complex production deployments and critical release activities.
- Lead post-release reviews and collaborate with engineering, SRE, QA, release management, product, architecture, and security teams.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to DevOps engineers and software engineering teams.
- Communicate project status, technical risks, and delivery milestones to stakeholders and leadership.
Requirements
- 7–10+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Build & Release Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring engineers.
- Strong experience supporting and automating production software deployments in cloud environments.
- Deep experience building enterprise-scale CI/CD pipelines with CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar platforms.
- Strong Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
- Experience managing artifact repositories such as JFrog Artifactory.
- Experience designing deployment automation, release orchestration, and software delivery workflows.
- Strong understanding of Git workflows, branching strategies, pull request processes, and release management.
- Strong scripting or programming experience using Python, Go, Bash, or similar languages.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration is desirable.
- Experience with AWS services and cloud-native architectures is desirable.
- Experience integrating DevSecOps capabilities such as SAST, SCA, DAST, SBOM generation, secrets management, and policy enforcement is desirable.
- Experience improving engineering productivity and DORA metrics is desirable.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
