
Software Engineering Instructor
General AssemblyResponsibilities
- Teach 40 hours per week, with classes on campus Monday through Thursday and remote on Fridays.
- Prepare lessons and materials using existing GA curriculum content.
- Provide meaningful and prompt feedback to students on their progress.
- Collaborate with co-instructors and teaching assistants to meet student needs.
- Guide students in developing a capstone project to showcase their skills.
- Facilitate a dynamic and positive classroom community.
- Inspire students to overcome challenges in learning new skills.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience working on a software development team.
- Strong front-end and back-end development skills.
- Familiarity with Computer Science topics such as recursion, sorting, and data structures.
- Fluency in HTML, CSS, and full-stack JavaScript.
- Experience with at least one JS framework, preferably React.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with at least one additional object-oriented language, preferably Python.
- Priority given to applicants with Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance or Training and Assessment.
