Base Salary
$135k - $150k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own complex, ambiguous customer-facing features from problem definition through production delivery.
- Write reliable, maintainable backend code and select testing approaches based on risk and system impact.
- Respond to production issues, identify root causes, and implement improvements to prevent recurrence.
- Use AI tools for code generation, debugging, test writing, and task decomposition, and share effective practices with the team.
- Provide actionable code reviews and collaborate with product, design, and engineering partners.
- Improve code, tests, tooling, development processes, and shared platform capabilities.
- Create clear technical documentation, commit messages, and implementation notes.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience delivering customer-facing SaaS product features in production environments.
- Strong proficiency in at least one backend language: Go, Java, Python, or C++.
- Deep understanding of scalable web architecture, API design, and performance optimization.
- Experience with AWS or GCP and both SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Ability to independently structure ambiguous technical work into small, deliverable increments and drive execution through completion.
- Experience designing and implementing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
- Familiarity with feature flags, canary releases, or comparable safe deployment and rollout practices.
- Active use of AI tools in software development workflows.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and design teams.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience improving team-level engineering tooling, development processes, or developer workflows is preferred.
- Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to shared platform capabilities is preferred.
