Base Salary
$70k - $150k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop cloud-native applications using AWS serverless services.
- Build event-driven, loosely coupled microservices for real-time payment processing.
- Implement secure REST APIs and asynchronous messaging solutions with sub-second processing requirements.
- Develop integrations for RTP, SWIFT, ACH, ISO 20022, and Open Banking payment processing.
- Design highly available, active-active, fault-tolerant, and disaster-recovery-capable payment services.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, security, logging, error handling, and non-functional requirements.
- Develop GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines and AWS CDK infrastructure-as-code automation.
- Manage source repositories, branching strategies, pull requests, version control, and release governance.
- Participate in production support, incident resolution, root cause analysis, and problem management.
- Implement observability with logs, metrics, traces, and dashboards, and support chaos engineering and resiliency testing.
- Translate user requirements into technical specifications, write code, conduct testing, and maintain software and documentation.
- Evaluate technologies and assess their effects on processes, data, risk, and upstream and downstream systems.
Requirements
- 5–7+ years of software development and relevant experience, with a post-secondary degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 3 years of AWS cloud development experience.
- At least 2 years of serverless architecture experience.
- Experience in financial services, payments, fintech, or banking.
- Experience building event-driven architectures and distributed systems.
- Experience with mission-critical, high-volume transaction systems.
- Strong experience with AWS serverless services, payment integrations, distributed systems, APIs, databases, GitHub, and DevOps automation.
- AWS Certified Developer Associate certification required.
- GitHub Foundations certification required.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or Professional certification recommended.
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional certification recommended.
- AI Practitioner certification required; AI-assisted development experience and AWS Certified AI Practitioner knowledge are preferred.
- Experience with GitHub Copilot, OpenAI APIs, Amazon Bedrock, prompt engineering, AI-powered code generation, AI-assisted testing, or AI automation is preferred.
- Experience with real-time payments, ISO 20022, Open Banking APIs, payment hub platforms, PCI-DSS compliance, resiliency, or chaos engineering is preferred.
