$142k - $199k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build ABC News client application experiences in BrightScript using the Roku SceneGraph SDK.
- Develop features including onboarding, browse UI/UX, analytics, video playback UI/UX, and other on-screen experiences.
- Contribute to JavaScript and React web tools, gulp build scripts, AWS configurations, and Node.js services.
- Work with Roku to evaluate hardware, firmware, and certification requirements from a client-application perspective.
- Collaborate with client SDK, design engineering, services engineering, product, backend, and mobile teams on requirements, device limitations, and cross-platform parity.
- Develop reusable utilities and UI components, generalized application logic, templated controls, custom controls, and performant user interfaces.
Requirements
- 5+ years of development experience with a client-side development stack, ideally including BrightScript.
- Experience with MVVM architecture and reusable utilities and UI components.
- Bachelor’s degree or better in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent job experience.
- Experience creating rich, performant, pixel-perfect user interfaces and animations.
- Familiarity with set-top boxes, smart TVs, devices with varying capabilities, configuration-driven development, performance optimization, and feature degradation techniques.
- Experience with asynchronous and concurrent code, unit testing, JavaScript client- and server-side development, DevOps, gulp scripts, Jenkins, and AWS.
