
GE Vernova Software Engineering - Co-op -Summer - Fall
GE VernovaResponsibilities
- Learn the product portfolio and develop software on a GE Vernova product line.
- Design, develop, and test software using course-related skills in Java, C, or C++.
- Assist with subsystem and feature design and development.
- Integrate GE Cloud DevOps tools into the GE MDS development process.
- Support end-to-end functional software system regression automation using Python and Robot Framework.
- Follow engineering processes, practices, and procedures.
- Report progress and status to project management.
- Estimate implementation and issue-resolution effort and assist with task prioritization.
- Complete an engineering and technology assignment or project while applying academic knowledge.
- Use disciplined software design and development techniques.
Requirements
- Be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate program in engineering, computer science, computer engineering, IT, or another technical field.
- Maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA without rounding.
- Have experience with computer and networking administration, including Linux or Windows.
- Have experience with software development and revision control, such as Git or GitHub.
- Have experience developing Python scripts and Linux Bash or Windows Batch scripts.
- Have knowledge of networking protocols including TCP/IP, SSH, HTTP, and DHCP.
- Have working knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, or equivalent tools.
- Have knowledge of physical network topologies and Ethernet bridging.
- Be proficient in Java, C++, and C programming.
- Have experience creating web UIs.
- Demonstrate analytical problem-solving, curiosity, initiative, teamwork, interpersonal skills, and willingness to learn.
