Base Salary
$141k - $173k/yr
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentorship to engineers while remaining an individual contributor.
- Lead architecture, technical design, planning, and implementation for complex distributed, cloud-native, and event-driven software systems.
- Translate business and customer needs into scalable, maintainable, secure technical solutions.
- Partner with product, architecture, engineering, and other stakeholders to define approaches, manage dependencies, identify risks, and advance initiatives.
- Review designs, code, and technical approaches for quality, scalability, reliability, security, performance, and maintainability.
- Contribute code where it provides the greatest technical value.
- Guide modernization of legacy applications and platforms toward domain-aligned, cloud-native architectures.
- Promote automated testing, CI/CD, observability, proactive monitoring, and operational excellence.
- Support technology and organizational transformation from waterfall practices to Agile and iterative delivery.
- Use data, experimentation, and engineering metrics to evaluate solutions and drive improvement.
- Evaluate responsible applications of Generative AI and Agentic AI for engineering and customer solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated technical leadership.
- Proven experience leading the technical design and delivery of complex software systems.
- Strong experience with C#, .NET, ASP.NET, RESTful APIs, React and/or Angular, Kafka or similar event-streaming technologies, AWS and/or Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, and relational and NoSQL databases.
- Experience designing distributed, event-driven, cloud-native, and API-driven applications and services.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD practices, automated testing, and modern software engineering practices.
- Experience transitioning teams or organizations from waterfall to Agile development practices.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, scalability, reliability, security, performance, and OWASP guidelines.
- Ability to solve complex and ambiguous technical problems autonomously, influence decisions across teams, communicate clearly, mentor engineers, and make trade-offs among scope, quality, risk, and delivery.
- Preferred familiarity with Terraform, Helm, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, GraphQL, Python, Generative AI, Agentic AI, domain-driven design, domain decomposition, legacy modernization, and regulated industries.
