Base Salary
$176k - $196k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, maintain, and scale distributed, event-driven backend microservices and cloud infrastructure.
- Define, decompose, and lead delivery of complex backend systems, database schemas, and API contracts.
- Integrate AI models, streaming data pipelines, and telemetry systems to automate workflows.
- Conduct code and design reviews and write automated unit and integration tests.
- Own service reliability, system performance, architectural documentation, runbooks, and schemas across the full lifecycle.
- Collaborate with product managers and frontend engineers on API integrations and systemic bottlenecks.
- Mentor engineering peers and serve as a subject matter expert for the assigned domain.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7+ years of professional software development experience; candidates with 5+ years of fast-tracked execution are also encouraged to apply.
- Strong proficiency in Go or Java; Python experience is highly valued.
- Deep understanding of RESTful and gRPC API design, microservices, SQL/NoSQL data architecture, and event-driven systems.
- Experience with message brokers such as Kafka.
- Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and operating cloud-native microservices on AWS, GCP, or Azure, with AWS preferred.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, continuous integration and delivery pipelines, and Agile development practices.
- Strong verbal and written technical communication skills.
