Base Salary
$217k - $303k/yr
Responsibilities
- Partner with Product Management, Product Design, Data Science, and iOS, Android, and web engineers to design reliable, low-latency consumer product solutions.
- Own the full software lifecycle for major initiatives, including technical design, API contracts, development, testing, rollout, and observability.
- Build and operate scalable backend services and APIs for consumer applications.
- Design and evaluate A/B experiments and analyze user behavior, conversion funnels, retention, and performance metrics.
- Improve engineering practices and developer workflows while mentoring teammates and using AI-assisted engineering tools.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of hands-on backend development experience building and operating large-scale distributed serving systems in high-concurrency environments.
- Proficiency in Go or Python, or comparable experience with Java, Kotlin, Rust, or C++.
- Expertise designing and maintaining scalable APIs using GraphQL, REST, or gRPC.
- Experience with high-throughput caching layers and distributed datastores such as Redis, Cassandra, or PostgreSQL.
- Strong product judgment, experimentation skills, communication, collaboration, and ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments.

- Base salary range of $217,000–$303,000 USD, plus potential equity and, depending on the position, commission.
