Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and delivery of complex, data-intensive software for analytics, experimentation, and data-driven decisioning.
- Define modernization strategy and evolve legacy systems toward scalable, cloud-native, API-driven, service-oriented architectures.
- Design system architecture, detailed technical solutions, integration patterns, non-functional requirements, and implementation approaches.
- Design, code, test, debug, and deliver production-quality software across the full engineering lifecycle.
- Build scalable services, APIs, data pipelines, and analytical capabilities using cloud and data technologies.
- Coordinate technical execution across globally distributed engineering teams and align dependencies, decisions, and milestones.
- Lead architecture reviews, design reviews, code reviews, technical decisions, and engineering tradeoff discussions.
- Improve platform scalability, reliability, developer productivity, operational readiness, automation, and delivery speed.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through design guidance, code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing.
- Drive alignment and technical direction through ambiguity while championing engineering excellence and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience delivering scalable, high-performance, reliable software.
- Strong hands-on experience with distributed systems, microservices, RESTful APIs, and cloud-native applications.
- Experience building data-intensive applications and analytics platforms; Databricks, Spark, or PySpark experience is highly desirable.
- Proven expertise in system architecture, high-level and detailed design, and end-to-end technical delivery.
- Experience with cloud adoption, platform transformation, and legacy application modernization.
- Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure, CI/CD, containerization, Kubernetes, observability, and modern software delivery practices.
- Demonstrated technical leadership as an individual contributor, including architecture influence, technical strategy, and cross-team initiatives.
- Ability to translate business and product requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable technical solutions.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across engineering, product, architecture, data science, QA, and operations teams.
- Experience coordinating technical initiatives across globally distributed teams and multiple time zones.
- Passion for mentoring and developing engineers through technical guidance, design reviews, and knowledge sharing.
- Strong problem-solving skills, sound technical judgment, and the ability to deliver through hands-on execution.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field; an advanced degree is a plus.
