Responsibilities
- Influence the roadmap and define personal career objectives.
- Deliver new features with the team and iterate based on results.
- Drive projects from initial ideation through customer operations.
- Contribute to open-source projects beyond the immediate team’s scope.
- Design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems with ownership of reliability, performance, and availability.
- Participate in on-call rotations and take ownership of operated services.
- Support teammates, participate in design discussions, and collaborate remotely.
- Develop a deeper understanding of Grafana Cloud, customers, and a large distributed-system codebase.
Requirements
- Solid experience with at least one programming language; Go is used, while Python, C, C++, Rust, or similar experience translates well.
- Some experience delivering projects from requirements gathering and ideation through shipping products to customers.
- Some experience developing software that runs in the cloud or experience with systems engineering.
- Experience writing clean, robust, performant, and maintainable software.
- A self-driven, customer-focused, pragmatic, collaborative, and communicative approach is expected.
- Bonus qualifications include experience with Kubernetes and/or Docker.
- Bonus qualifications include operational use of Grafana and Prometheus, including on-call experience or hobby/homelab use.
- Bonus qualifications include exposure to microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- Bonus qualifications include familiarity with on-call work, operations/SRE tasks, or infrastructure as code.
