Base Salary
$197k - $246k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Design and deliver robust cloud-based solutions in collaboration with digital product managers.
- Use multiple programming languages, databases, container orchestration services, and AWS tools to build software.
- Provide technical leadership across Agile teams and establish standards for design, development, and operational excellence.
- Partner with architects on service boundaries, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks.
- Identify improvement opportunities, reduce technical debt, and optimize system performance.
- Influence long-term technology strategy by evaluating emerging tools and practices.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to internal and external technology communities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred: master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Preferred: 7+ years coding with more than two of Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, and Scala.
- Preferred: experience with databases, cloud platforms, open source frameworks, front-end frameworks, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing, Git-based version control, cloud troubleshooting, observability, AI coding tools, mentoring, and large-scale technical initiatives.

- Full-time annual base salary varies by location: $197,300-$225,100 in Cambridge or McLean and $215,200-$245,600 in New York.
