Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable systems infrastructure across distributed computing, storage, networking, and runtime environments.
- Own end-to-end technical design, architectural trade-offs, execution, staged rollouts, and post-launch monitoring for complex systems projects.
- Establish telemetry, metrics, dashboards, alerting, observability, and service level objectives for production systems.
- Lead incident response, root cause analysis, retrospectives, debugging, and reliability improvements.
- Build runbooks, mitigation playbooks, internal tooling, automation, and migrations that improve operational efficiency and reduce technical debt.
- Analyze performance profiles and optimize systems across the systems stack.
- Partner with product engineering, infrastructure, security, and other cross-functional teams on systems design and technical decisions.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to recruiting and technical program efforts.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in systems software engineering, including distributed systems, storage systems, networking infrastructure, or operating-system-level components.
- Experience designing and implementing large-scale production systems with defined reliability, performance, and operational requirements.
- Experience debugging complex systems issues with profilers, static analyzers, tracing frameworks, or custom instrumentation.
- Experience establishing production observability through metrics, dashboards, alerting, and service level objectives.
- Experience driving cross-team technical projects from design through production, including dependency coordination, staged rollouts, and post-launch monitoring.
- Preferred: familiarity with overload testing, chaos engineering, or fault injection for distributed systems.
- Preferred: production experience with C, C++, Rust, or Go.
- Preferred: experience with platform or infrastructure projects, developer productivity improvements, codebase modernization, responsible AI practices, and AI-enabled workflow optimization.
