Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain scalable software solutions on the Kafka Platform Team.
- Write secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms for enterprise-scale performance and stability.
- Create architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure design constraints are met throughout development.
- Analyze large and diverse data sets, create visualizations and reports, and use insights to improve software applications and systems.
- Administer Kafka event-streaming software and support Kafka cluster operations in an enterprise environment.
- Deploy and operate solutions using Amazon Web Services and Kubernetes.
- Use enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools for coding, refactoring, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation while validating their outputs.
- Apply software development lifecycle tooling and automation practices to improve delivery and engineering productivity.
- Guide peers on responsible AI use, including data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and proficient applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming and database querying languages.
- Experience administering Kafka event-streaming software, including Kafka cluster administration in a large-scale enterprise environment.
- Java development experience, particularly with Kafka consumers and producers.
- Experience with AWS and Kubernetes deployments.
- Knowledge of application resiliency, security, software development lifecycle practices, and continuous integration and delivery.
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and critically evaluating, validating, and refining generated outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows and ability to guide peers on safe and effective usage.
- AWS certification is preferred.
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) certification is preferred.
- Golang software development experience is preferred.
