Responsibilities
- Design and integrate reliable physical and software-defined storage and file-system components for Windows and Linux.
- Develop resilient clustering and virtualization solutions using Windows and Linux clustering technologies and hypervisors.
- Design and architect scalable distributed cloud services for managing clustering, hypervisors, and storage at the edge.
- Lead engineering standards and foster a data-driven, collaborative team culture.
- Analyze, debug, and communicate complex technical issues, including issues involving new technologies and AI.
- Partner with product teams to manage dependencies, deliver updates, and improve engineering capabilities.
- Act as a Designated Responsible Individual, monitor services for degradation or outages, alert stakeholders, and initiate restoration actions.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software development experience in distributed systems and operating systems.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent qualification.
- 5+ years designing, developing, deploying, and monitoring failover clustering, resilient storage technologies, and Hyper-V management.
- Experience with SAN storage, including iSCSI and FC, and debugging interoperability issues between hosts and SAN infrastructure.
- Strong programming and debugging skills in C#, Rust, Java, C, and C++.
- 5+ years of systems-level software development in C, C++, or Rust.
- 5+ years of systems engineering experience involving multithreaded programming, synchronization, and locking.
- Experience designing solutions with Failover Clustering, Storage Spaces, Software Defined Storage, Hyper-V, and Windows Server.
- Experience with storage and file systems in Windows, Linux, and Kubernetes.
- At least 2 years of kernel and device-driver development experience in Linux or Windows.
- Knowledge of advanced data structures such as B-trees and hash tables, plus strong understanding of algorithms.
- Experience analyzing storage performance and functionality and familiarity with current and emerging storage technologies.
- Strong design, problem-solving, performance, scalability, security, and reliability skills.
- Experience with AI/ML and LLMs is highly preferred.
