Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable end-to-end applications using Java backend technologies and modern front-end frameworks.
- Build microservices, RESTful and GraphQL APIs, asynchronous services, and event-driven integrations.
- Integrate enterprise platforms, Kafka event streaming, legacy systems, and relational databases while maintaining data consistency.
- Participate in CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, build and deployment processes, environment management, and release activities.
- Provide L3 production support, troubleshoot issues across the application stack, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures.
- Develop secure code with authentication, authorization, secure data handling, and regulatory compliance practices.
- Collaborate with product owners, designers, and engineering teams on requirements, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
- Improve system performance, scalability, code quality, architecture, and technical debt while supporting cloud and microservices modernization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of relevant experience as a Java backend engineer.
- Experience with Java, Spring Boot or similar frameworks, RESTful API development, microservices architecture, SQL and/or NoSQL databases, and Git-based source control.
- Preferred experience with Kafka, event-driven architectures, AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, Salesforce, automated testing frameworks, DevOps tools, domain-driven design, and distributed systems.
- Experience with financial services or other regulated environments is preferred.
- Ability to deliver scalable, resilient, high-performing applications and collaborate across engineering and product teams.
