Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and document software for a scoped project on the team roadmap.
- Apply generative AI and agentic techniques including prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, tool and function calling, and multi-step reasoning.
- Build integrations between AI systems and IDEs, source control, CI/CD systems, and issue tracking tools.
- Gather requirements from internal engineering users and refine tooling based on adoption and feedback.
- Create automated tests, test datasets, regression suites, and evaluation criteria for AI-assisted development behavior.
- Measure tooling adoption and impact and document and demonstrate results to engineering teams.
- Participate in Git, code review, CI/CD, stand-ups, design reviews, demos, and project presentations.
Requirements
- Pursuing a BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or an equivalent degree, with expected graduation between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Experience with software development, source control, and testing.
- Experience with object-oriented programming in Python, C++, C#, Rust, or Java, with the ability to independently write and debug non-trivial code.
- Exposure to AI or machine learning concepts through coursework, personal projects, or prior internship work.
- Strong written and verbal communication and the ability to work on-site in Colorado Springs.
- Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, RAG pipelines, or agentic frameworks such as LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, or Semantic Kernel is preferred.
- Experience with tools, scripts, automation, APIs, integrations, test automation, evaluation tooling, AI coding assistants, IDE extensions, or MCP is preferred.
- Exposure to GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps is preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Git, Confluence, Jira, or Bitbucket is preferred.
- Prior internship, co-op, research, or substantial open-source contribution experience is preferred.
