Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain DevSecOps pipelines with CI/CD, continuous monitoring, SAST, DAST, SCA, compliance checks, and automated security testing.
- Automate operational and security workflows using Python, Bash, or Go, including SOAR-style incident response, threat detection, guardrails, and auto-remediation.
- Design and operate secure AWS architectures and infrastructure as code using Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Build and maintain ECS and EKS container workloads and automate container vulnerability management.
- Deploy and manage AWS WAF, AWS Network Firewall, Security Groups, NACLs, and virtualized Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Check Point NGFWs.
- Monitor firewall, IDS/IPS, and VPC flow logs and manage F5 BigIP, VPN, DNS, SFTP, and TCP/IP-based services.
- Manage AWS cloud services, provisioning, configuration, patching, lifecycle management, and cloud and container security assessments.
- Implement least-privilege access, AWS IAM, SSO, identity integrations, permission audits, and cloud security posture monitoring.
- Support SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and ISO 27001 compliance and maintain documentation, architecture diagrams, and security procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Seven or more years of IT professional experience.
- Three or more years of experience specifically in AWS Cloud Security, DevOps, or DevSecOps.
- Hands-on experience with AWS firewalls, NGFWs, IDS/IPS, and advanced network security.
- Proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go and experience developing security automation, guardrails, auto-remediation, or security tooling.
- Strong knowledge of AWS core services and proficiency with Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience overseeing hybrid software, web, and hardware products from specification through rollout and maintenance.
- Experience integrating network operating systems, application programs, and hardware devices through specification, design, coding, testing, and maintenance.
- AWS Security Specialty or AWS DevOps Professional certification is desired.
- Experience with SOAR platforms, Lambda/Step Functions auto-remediation, Kubernetes/EKS security, container registries, or automated compliance is desired.
