Responsibilities
- Analyze existing OpenShift cluster deployments, technical limitations, and customer needs.
- Design, build, test, and implement solutions for identified platform issues.
- Develop Ansible automation to integrate OpenShift clusters and supporting infrastructure with CANES network, identity, and PKI services.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot deployed OpenShift clusters and applications on-platform.
- Establish processes and tooling to maintain cluster health over the long term.
- Identify technology patterns and propose system improvements.
- Author technical documentation, technical drawings, and end-user support materials.
- Perform risk assessments and propose solutions to reduce risk and address technical pain points.
- Provide technical guidance and professional growth support to junior engineers.
Requirements
- At least five years of experience with Consolidated Afloat Network and Enterprise Services (CANES).
- At least five years of experience in IT systems design, development, integration, and support.
- At least two years of experience with Enterprise Linux, including RHEL, Rocky, or CentOS.
- At least two years of experience with Ansible Automation Platform.
- Proven technical problem-solving and solution implementation experience, with the ability to work autonomously.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling activities on waterfront platforms in all seasons.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a U.S. government Secret-level security clearance.
- Preferred experience designing and developing automated OpenShift integrations with CANES services, performing risk assessments, creating technical drawings and documentation, and guiding junior engineers.
