Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, secure, administer, and sustain Microsoft Azure and Azure Government cloud architectures supporting Navy C4I.
- Develop hybrid cloud solutions integrating on-premises infrastructure with Azure services.
- Engineer Azure connectivity and networking, including ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, routing, segmentation, firewalls, virtual networks, subnets, network security groups, and VLAN integration.
- Implement cloud security, identity, privileged access, role-based access controls, secure baselines, and Zero Trust principles.
- Support Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows and Linux virtual machines, and containerized workloads.
- Develop repeatable infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform, Azure Automation, scripting, and CI/CD practices.
- Troubleshoot cloud, network, identity, security, compute, storage, and hybrid integration issues across lab, test, and production environments.
- Produce architecture diagrams, implementation plans, test artifacts, operating procedures, troubleshooting guides, and sustainment documentation.
- Support RMF, ATO, STIG, vulnerability remediation, POA&M, and continuous monitoring activities.
- Participate in technical reviews, change management, test events, deployment planning, and production transition activities.
- Identify technical risks, dependencies, integration gaps, and sustainment concerns and recommend mitigation options.
- Communicate technical recommendations, risks, and tradeoffs to government customers, engineering teams, cybersecurity stakeholders, and program leadership.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- An active DoD Secret clearance is required at start, with the ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.
- Ability to qualify for CSWF / DoD 8140 IAT Level II is required.
- Security+ CE or equivalent IAT II certification is required.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical discipline is required.
- At least five years of experience with Azure systems engineering, Azure Government or DoD cloud environments, hybrid cloud architectures, Azure networking, operating systems management, cloud security, identity and access management, infrastructure automation, and complex technical troubleshooting.
- Experience with Linux, Windows, VMware, Terraform, Azure Automation, PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible, or comparable tools.
- Experience with DoD Impact Level environments is required; IL5 experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience producing technical documentation and RMF/ATO compliance evidence.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Preferred experience includes Navy C4I/C5I/C6I or tactical network environments; Azure Government, classified cloud, IL5, or IL6; Azure Arc; Azure Virtual Desktop; Azure Kubernetes Service; Azure Firewall; Microsoft Defender for Cloud; ExpressRoute; VPN Gateway; Azure virtual machines; Git-based version control; CI/CD pipelines; OpenShift; Kubernetes; Docker; Cisco; Juniper; Software Defined Networking; vSAN; DISA STIGs; ACAS/SCAP remediation; RMF controls; POA&Ms; and continuous monitoring.
- Strong collaboration and leadership skills in a multidisciplinary technical environment.
