Base Salary
$180k - $400k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own independent, cloud-based development environments where AI agents can run, execute test suites, and examine build results visually.
- Build MCP server integrations connecting agents to systems such as CircleCI, Slack, Datadog, and GitHub.
- Own the repo-wide agents.md file and improve agent guidance, skills, conventions, and package-context documentation.
- Work with engineers to identify where agents struggle and address root causes through documentation and tooling access.
- Develop tooling that enables non-engineers to make simple visual updates to the application.
- Act as the internal product manager for AI agents by tracking industry trends and driving AI productivity improvements across Hightouch.
- Lead cross-team efforts while remaining hands-on with implementation.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and the ability to understand complex backend code quickly.
- Deep hands-on experience with AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, Devin, or similar tools.
- Experience writing agent documentation, custom instructions, or context files that improved agent output.
- A track record of building developer tools or infrastructure used by other engineers.
- Comfort working across CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, internal tooling, and application code.
- Experience building or contributing to MCP servers or similar agent-tooling integrations is preferred.
- Background in developer productivity, platform engineering, or developer experience roles is preferred.
- Experience with TypeScript/JavaScript monorepos, Go, and GraphQL is preferred.
- Experience setting up sandboxed or containerized development environments at scale is preferred.
