Responsibilities

  • Apply continuous and combinatorial optimization, control, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and algorithmic techniques to build, maintain, and improve decision systems and processes.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify relevant information sources and formulate meaningful problems and questions.
  • Identify relevant data and create data input and output pipelines and application programming interfaces.
  • Design and apply system models, advanced control techniques, system identification, and state estimation methods.
  • Develop feasible, practical solutions and explain the rationale and findings clearly to business stakeholders.
  • Present results that may contradict common beliefs when supported by the analysis.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of dynamic, parametric, and non-parametric optimization methods.
  • Experience with dynamic and/or static system modeling.
  • Experience designing and implementing advanced control techniques such as Model Predictive Control and adaptive control.
  • Knowledge of system identification and state estimation methods such as Kalman filtering and Moving Horizon Estimation.
  • Knowledge of machine learning concepts and their application to modeling, optimization, or control problems.
  • Proficiency in Python and experience with Git version control.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, teamwork, time management, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of the oil and gas industry is an additional qualification.
  • Familiarity with AWS or similar cloud platforms, Docker, and Kubernetes is an additional qualification.
