Responsibilities

Apply continuous and combinatorial optimization, control, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and algorithmic techniques to build, maintain, and improve decision systems and processes.
Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify relevant information sources and formulate meaningful problems and questions.
Identify relevant data and create data input and output pipelines and application programming interfaces.
Design and apply system models, advanced control techniques, system identification, and state estimation methods.
Develop feasible, practical solutions and explain the rationale and findings clearly to business stakeholders.
Present results that may contradict common beliefs when supported by the analysis.

Master’s degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of dynamic, parametric, and non-parametric optimization methods.
Experience with dynamic and/or static system modeling.
Experience designing and implementing advanced control techniques such as Model Predictive Control and adaptive control.
Knowledge of system identification and state estimation methods such as Kalman filtering and Moving Horizon Estimation.
Knowledge of machine learning concepts and their application to modeling, optimization, or control problems.
Proficiency in Python and experience with Git version control.
Excellent oral and written communication, teamwork, time management, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of the oil and gas industry is an additional qualification.
Familiarity with AWS or similar cloud platforms, Docker, and Kubernetes is an additional qualification.
