Responsibilities

  • Design and ship production-grade AI agents for fraud, risk, compliance, and marketplace integrity workflows
  • Own agent development from initial customer pilot through deployment and continuous iteration
  • Scope workflows with customers, engineer agent context and tools, build evaluations, and tune performance against production data
  • Work directly with enterprise risk, fraud, and compliance leaders to understand investigative workflows and encode their judgment into agents
  • Drive the evolution of Variance’s context engine, entity graph, and agentic review automation platform
  • Turn customer-specific solutions into reusable platform capabilities

Requirements

  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience shipping end-to-end production systems
  • Hands-on experience building with LLMs, including prompt and context engineering, tool use, RAG, and evals
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders and executives
  • Strong problem-solving skills in ambiguous, fast-changing environments
  • Comfort working directly with customers and translating business needs into technical decisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience building or deploying agentic systems in production is preferred
  • Familiarity with evaluation frameworks and rigorous approaches to measuring agent quality is preferred
  • Experience in fraud, risk, identity, compliance, trust and safety, or financial services is preferred
  • Experience shipping into regulated environments, including security reviews, data residency requirements, and audits, is preferred
