Base Salary
$108k - $195k/yr
Responsibilities
- Engineer, administer, maintain, and support Oracle database environments for FAA engineering applications.
- Install, configure, upgrade, patch, monitor, tune, troubleshoot, and optimize Oracle databases.
- Develop and maintain Oracle SQL and PL/SQL queries, stored procedures, packages, and database objects.
- Implement database security, auditing, access controls, data protection, backup, restoration, recovery, and disaster recovery.
- Use Oracle Enterprise Manager and related tools to manage database environments.
- Troubleshoot database and application integration issues and perform root-cause analysis.
- Partner with Java application developers and systems engineers supporting Oracle-backed applications.
- Participate in requirements analysis, system design, testing, validation, documentation, modernization, and technical-refresh activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline with 8 or more years of relevant experience; additional relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
- Hands-on experience administering and supporting Oracle Database environments and developing Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
- Experience with Oracle installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, backup, recovery, disaster recovery, security, auditing, roles, privileges, and access controls.
- Experience troubleshooting database performance and application/database integration issues.
- Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager or comparable database monitoring and management tools.
- Experience in structured software or systems development environments.
- Must meet applicable FAA suitability requirements.
- Preferred experience includes Java/J2EE, Spring, Hibernate/JPA, RESTful APIs, WebLogic, Payara, Liquibase, GitLab, JIRA, Confluence, mission-critical or government systems, Oracle performance tuning and modernization, and web-based application development.
