Base Salary
$196k - $221k/yr
Responsibilities
- Engage with developers, game studios, and partners to identify opportunities and address challenges for players and gaming communities.
- Design, build, and maintain gaming features across desktop and mobile platforms.
- Expand and safeguard the collection of games and game-related metadata that powers Discord’s gaming features.
- Partner with Content, Marketing, and ML teams to improve ranking and discovery systems.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, product owners, and data scientists to build and iterate on engaging, trusted user experiences.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience as a full-stack software engineer.
- Experience with React/TypeScript and Python or other modern programming languages.
- Ability to work across different technical stacks and learn new ones.
- Experience leading projects, gathering requirements, supporting partners, and mentoring others.
- A track record of shipping incremental features that improve the user experience.
- Strong collaboration and communication with product, design, engineering, and other stakeholders.
- Discord user status and interest in improving the product are expected.
- Passion for gaming is a bonus qualification.
- Games industry experience, including game studio, developer, or DevOps experience, is a bonus qualification.
- Experience with developer platforms or tooling is a bonus qualification.
- Experience with native iOS, Objective-C, Swift, Android, Java, or Kotlin development is a bonus qualification.
