Responsibilities
- Define automated processes and system specifications with internal customers.
- Document customer requirements and reach agreements on system solutions.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers on system conception and component selection.
- Create software architecture, assess software risks, and implement mitigations.
- Develop, test, simulate, debug, and integrate software modules and automated control sequences.
- Set up PCs, install software and hardware drivers, and make control modules functional.
- Trial-run systems with hardware engineering teams to improve and verify reliability.
- Install systems on production floors, support customer qualification, and troubleshoot production issues.
- Execute automation projects independently while collaborating across teams, departments, sites, and customer facilities.
Requirements
- 15+ years of software engineering experience developing automated process and test systems.
- Expertise designing and developing software for automated assembly and test systems used in optical data communication product manufacturing.
- Proficiency in C#, C, and C++.
- Proficiency in motion control and machine vision technology applications.
- Knowledge of optical communication technology is preferred.
- Familiarity with deep learning technology applications is a plus.
- Ability to work independently, collaborate across disciplines, and support flexible schedules for customer and facility needs.
- Ability to work in a clean room environment when required.
Benefits
- Regular schedule is an 8-hour shift from 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional irregular hours or weekend work for urgent production support.
- Occasional overseas travel to customer sites may be required for system transfer or support.
