Base Salary

$125k - $175k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate secure, scalable AI platforms and proxy systems used throughout SpaceX
  • Own platform development across design, testing, deployment, operations, and continuous improvement
  • Create shared prompts, skills, infrastructure, documentation, and tools that drive adoption among engineers
  • Identify high-value opportunities and build solutions for tested software, deployed applications, trained models, and reliable data systems
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to connect AI capabilities to real tools and workflows
  • Onboard new models, expand compute resources, and optimize proxy efficiency for logging, control, and security
  • Develop risk-mitigation tools including AI-powered code review and pull request automation
  • Convert engineering expertise into secure, reliable, and scalable automation

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or another engineering discipline, or 2+ years of professional experience building production software in lieu of a degree
  • Experience developing production software systems in platform, backend, or full-stack environments
  • Preferred experience building internal developer platforms, AI gateways, or secure proxy systems in production
  • Hands-on experience with Docker containers, security-focused architecture, and integrations across cloud compute and frontier model providers is preferred
  • Familiarity with MLOps, model onboarding, compute orchestration, and large-scale AI infrastructure is preferred
  • Proficiency in Python and experience with additional languages such as Go, Java, or TypeScript is preferred
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes, container orchestration, observability, and infrastructure-as-code tools is preferred
  • Understanding of AI risk mitigation, code generation, and developer productivity tools is preferred
  • Applicants must meet applicable U.S. Government ITAR eligibility or authorization requirements
