Responsibilities
- Build and evaluate applied AI/ML solutions for real-world product and business problems with mentorship from experienced engineers.
- Contribute to machine learning and Generative AI projects involving models, agents, retrieval, and evaluation workflows.
- Translate business and product needs into technical projects spanning experimentation, prototyping, and working implementations.
- Improve AI/ML solutions through experimentation, error analysis, user feedback, and measurable results.
- Communicate findings and document results, trade-offs, limitations, and next steps.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled full-time in a quantitative Master’s degree program such as Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Returning to the Master’s program after the internship and graduating by August 2028.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals with Python experience and familiarity with testing, version control, APIs, data structures, and debugging.
- Hands-on experience building machine learning or AI systems through coursework, research, or industry internships.
- Experience or coursework in areas such as recommendation/ranking, NLP, classification, embeddings, LLM applications, RAG, agents, or model evaluation.
- Ability to use AI-assisted development tools thoughtfully, validate generated code and outputs, and explain their benefits and limitations.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills and an interest in reliable and responsible AI/ML solutions.
- Able to commit to a 12-week, full-time, 40-hour-per-week Summer 2027 internship.
